In the Volgograd region (Russian Federation), they plan to collect more than a million tons of vegetables in the 2020 season. According to KazakhZerno.kz, the harvesting of vegetable crops has already begun in the region. The first 7 thousand tons of fresh produce were received.

Volgograd farms today harvest cucumbers (3.5 thousand tons), cabbage (2.3 thousand tons), tomatoes (1.4 thousand tons), radishes, peppers and beets. On average, 275 centners of vegetable products are received per hectare.

In total, almost 18.5 thousand ha are occupied under vegetable crops in the region. This sowing area is enough to fully provide fresh vegetables to residents of the region. In addition, Volgograd products also go to the tables of residents of other regions of Russia.

Volgograd residents also successfully grow greenhouse vegetables. For the first 6 months of 2020, they were collected in the amount of 43 thousand tons. This is 1.5 times more than in the same period last year.
