The Moldovan company sent the first batch of plums of the 2020 harvest to Germany

Last year, Moldova exported almost 1.4 thousand tons of plums to Germany, and almost 19 thousand tons to the European Union as a whole.

The horticultural agricultural enterprise SC Farm-Prod SRL (Olanesti village, Stefan Voda district) sent to Germany the first batch of 19 tons of plum of the “Chachakskaya early” variety of the new harvest. The buyer is a German farmers’ cooperative, which, in addition to agricultural production, practices the import of fruit products and their resale to European chain retailers. Product price – 0.7 euro / kg (including the cost of packaging and delivery). The next delivery is scheduled for early September.

Farm-Prod is one of the most developed specialized companies in the fruit growing industry in Moldova. It has 130 hectares of intensive stone and pome fruit orchards equipped with anti-hail and irrigation systems, as well as a refrigerator with a capacity for simultaneous storage of about 4 thousand tons of fruits, lines for sorting and packaging products. The company is certified according to the Global G.A.P.

This year, the company plans to collect about 500 tons of plums from 30 hectares of plum orchards (at different stages of fruiting) – at the level of last year. In 2019, the company shipped about 400 tons of plums to two buyers in Germany.

Last year, Moldova exported almost 1.4 thousand tons of plums to Germany, and almost 19 thousand tons to the European Union as a whole. The total volume of external supplies of Moldovan plums in all directions amounted to more than 61 thousand tons.
