The Ministry of Agriculture of Russia has developed a number of additional measures of state support to farmers in the context of the spread of coronavirus

The head of the Ministry of Agriculture of the Russian Federation Dmitry Patrushev instructed the agro-industrial complex management bodies in the Russian regions on an ongoing basis to analyze the volume of food and prices in retail chains, as well as to ensure stocks of the main food categories for at least two months, the Ministry of Agriculture said in a statement.

“The department has created an operational headquarters for monitoring and monitoring the situation on food markets, chaired by First Deputy Minister Dzhambulat Khatuov and Deputy Minister Oksana Lut. Dmitry Patrushev instructed the regions to create similar bodies within two days and constantly analyze the available food volumes and prices in trade networks, “the report said.

“Subjects must provide stocks of the main categories of food for at least a two-month period, and also work out the possibility of a significant increase in agricultural production in a short time,” the ministry adds.

“According to the Minister, the situation on the agri-food market of Russia is stable at the moment, while the Ministry of Agriculture is faced with the task of coordinating efforts at the federal and regional levels to maintain the stability of the industry in conditions of volatility in the global financial market. In this regard, the Ministry has developed and submitted for consideration the government of the Russian Federation a number of additional measures of state support to farmers, “- said in a statement.

Agro-industrial complex management bodies in Russian regions reported no significant price fluctuations for products in the trading segment.

“During the meeting, the participants discussed the situation with prices and stocks of food in the regions. The heads of regional agro-industrial complex agencies confirmed the absence of significant price fluctuations in the trading segment, including in such significant categories of goods as pasta, canned goods and cereals,” the statement said .
