Since the beginning of this year, more than 20.2 thousand tons of greenhouse vegetables have been grown and harvested in the Moscow Region

Gross harvest of vegetables in the greenhouses of the Moscow region increased by 33% compared to the same period last year. This was written by the Ministry of Agriculture of the Russian Federation with reference to the words of the Minister of Agriculture and Food of the Moscow Region Andrei Razin.

“Since the beginning of this year, over 20.2 thousand tons of greenhouse vegetables have been grown and harvested in the Moscow Region. This is 33% more than in the past, when they collected 15.1 thousand tons, ”said Andrei Razin.

According to the minister, about 14 thousand tons of cucumbers were collected, more than 6 thousand tons of tomatoes and 213 tons of pepper, eggplant and other vegetables.

The agricultural enterprise “Agroculture Group” is the leader in the urban district of Kashira. About 13.3 thousand tons of vegetables were harvested here. In second place are Lukhovitsky vegetables – 3.6 thousand tons. The three leaders are closed by the greenhouse of Electrostal “Ivanisovo” – 3.2 thousand tons. Andrei Razin also highlighted the greenhouses of the Orekhovo-Zuevsky enterprise “Agrarian”, Odintsovo “Agronomist” and “Matveevskoe”.

“In recent years, the greenhouse vegetable growing industry in the Moscow Region has been showing a significant upsurge. At the end of 2019, the gross harvest of greenhouse vegetables in the region increased by 60% compared to the previous year and exceeded 100 thousand tons. Now we are in the top five in the country, counting on leadership in the coming years, ”added Andrei Razin in conclusion.
