Prices for potatoes and carrots decreased in most of the countries monitored by East-Fruit, with the exception of a slight increase in the price of the latter in Poland

According to East-Fruit, prices for potatoes and carrots have been declining this week in most of the countries regularly monitored by the project, amid the ongoing harvest campaign and widespread growth in the supply of these products.

IN Of Russia local producers actively revised prices both in the potato segment and in the carrot market, and both products became 14-28% cheaper at the end of the week. We also note that since the beginning of summer, potatoes in Russia have already become 3.7 times cheaper, and the prices for carrots have more than halved! At the end of the reporting period, farmers were ready to release their products at $ 0.11-0.19 / kg and $ 0.20-0.30 / kg, respectively.

Meanwhile, in Ukraine prices decreased only in the segment of carrots, while potato producers have so far managed to maintain the previous price indicators, and the minimum prices for these products have even slightly increased due to the end of sales of early potato varieties. As a result, potatoes on the Ukrainian market were offered at $ 0.20-0.24 / kg, while carrots fell in price to $ 0.16-0.26 / kg.

Poland continued to maintain its status as the market with the most attractive potato prices to consumers and became the only country this week where carrot prices rose slightly. Note that the price range for Polish potatoes expanded in the reporting period: low-quality products became even cheaper and were offered from $ 0.08 / kg, while prices for potatoes of above-average quality in some places reached $ 0.14 / kg. The carrot market in Poland was more stable, and prices rose slightly only within their minimal limits: $ 0.30-0.40 / kg.

The potato and carrot market also remained relatively stable in Georgia, Moldova and Belarus… In the first, potatoes were still offered at $ 0.16-0.28 / kg, while in the carrot segment there was only an increase in the maximum limits of the price range, which had already reached $ 0.26 / kg. At the same time, the prices for potatoes and carrots in Moldova, as well as a week earlier, were kept at the levels of $ 0.21-0.36 / kg and $ 0.36-0.42 / kg, respectively. In Belarus, potatoes could be purchased at $ 0.18-0.22 / kg, and carrots at $ 0.33-0.41 / kg.

Note that in Tajikistan cheaper products were recorded in both market segments. Here, potatoes fell in price by 10-30% to $ 0.15-0.24 / kg, while prices for carrots fell to $ 0.09-0.12 / kg.
