Polish gardeners start selling Golden apples

Polish gardeners are already actively harvesting winter fruits, but they are in no hurry to sell such products.

This week in Poland, apples of the Golden variety began to go on sale in large quantities, according to analysts of the EastFruit project. At the same time, manufacturers were still forced to lower selling prices in this segment. They explained their decision by the fact that there were quite large consignments of apples of autumn varieties on the market, which are not suitable for storing for long-term storage.

So, today Polish gardeners are offering apples for sale at $ 0.30-0.41 / kg, which is on average 22% cheaper than at the end of the last working week. The market operators explain the negative price dynamics in this segment by the rather large supply of autumn fruits, which are traditionally offered for sale much cheaper than winter apples.

Today, Polish gardeners are already actively harvesting winter fruits, but they are in no hurry to sell such products. Since the gross harvest of apples in the country this year has decreased due to unfavorable weather conditions, at the moment, farmers are trying to store the bulk of winter apples for sale in winter at a higher price.

Note that today apples in Poland are already on average 18% cheaper than in the same period last year.
