Prices for Chinese cabbage in Poland continue to grow steadily, according to analysts of the EastFruit project. The positive price trend in this segment provokes a very limited supply of this product in the face of increased demand.

Since last week alone, Chinese cabbage on Polish farms has risen in price by an average of 14%. Today, local farmers are shipping these products at $ 0.71-0.87 / kg, depending on the quality and volume of the purchased batch.

Market analysts explain such high prices by a very limited supply of these products. Today, Chinese cabbage is shipped to individual farms. Also, prices are supported by the virtual absence of imports, while the rate of sales of products on the market is quite high. Market players note that the main buyers of Peking are local wholesalers and retail chains, while exporters so far refrain from purchasing, citing high prices.

At the same time, the wholesale prices for Chinese cabbage in Poland today are already on average 14% higher than at the beginning of September 2019. We add that, according to market operators, already in the second half of September, the price of Peking cabbage in Poland may collapse sharply when local farmers start mass harvesting.
