New principles of greenhouse construction are being introduced in Uzbekistan

Based on the best foreign experience, the development and implementation of new standards for the construction of greenhouses will be completed in accordance with the natural and climatic conditions of the regions

The Minister of Agriculture of Uzbekistan Jamshid Khodjaev, together with the working group, visited the Peshkun region, where the issue of optimizing the work of greenhouses was discussed, the Ministry of Agriculture of the Republic of Uzbekistan reports.

According to the minister, many greenhouses in the region do not carry out proper agrotechnical measures, manufacturing companies do not pay due attention to marketing analysis, there are also shortcomings in the selection of seedlings, seeds, and the use of chemicals.

The members of the working group, together with commercial banks, studied the submitted projects of modern greenhouses on an area of ​​60 hectares in the free economic zone “Bukhara Agro” from more than 20 initiators.

As a result of the discussions, a new mechanism for the construction of greenhouses was developed. According to him:

– The owners of the greenhouses created in the Peshkunsky district will be united in cooperation, which will make it possible to produce export-oriented products according to the principle of “one district, one product”;

– all projects in the field of greenhouses will initially be considered by the specialists of the Agency for the Development of Horticulture and Greenhouse Economy and transferred to commercial banks for financing;

– with the involvement of international and local experts, training seminars will be organized to improve the knowledge and skills of people involved in the development of greenhouses;

– based on the best foreign experience, the development and implementation of new standards for the construction of greenhouses will be completed in a short time in accordance with the natural and climatic conditions of the country’s regions;

– a $ 3.5 million greenhouse development project in Uzbekistan is being implemented in partnership with the Ministry of Agriculture and the UN Food and Agriculture Organization (FAO).

At the meeting, an agreement was reached on supporting the project for the construction of modern greenhouses on the territory of the FEZ “Bukhara Agro”, as well as preparing proposals for the use of Uzbek components in the construction of modern greenhouses.
