In order to support Ukrainian potato processing, the Ministry of Economic Development, Trade and Agriculture of Ukraine plans to ban the import of potatoes from the Russian Federation. This was announced by Deputy Minister of Economy Taras Vysotsky following a meeting of the working group on the development of potato growing, writes Agri-gator.

According to the Minister of Economy, among the tools that will be used to support domestic processing of potatoes are a ban on imports of potatoes from the Russian Federation, consultations of the phytosanitary service, and the introduction of state support for processing.

Vysotsky also held a monthly call with specialized associations and competent authorities in the field of seed production and took part in a call with government representatives and international partners on the status of the land reform implementation.

“The adoption of legislative initiatives of the” land package “and the corresponding resolutions of the Cabinet of Ministers of Ukraine on their implementation, the introduction of transparent land monitoring and a national information campaign are priorities for the next few months,” the deputy minister commented on Facebook.
