04/09/2020

Opening dates for fairs and markets in each region are directly dependent on local authorities.

The Ministry of Industry and Trade of the Russian Federation obliged the regional authorities to resume the work of markets and fairs during the high-readiness regime, which operates throughout the country.

The ministry asks to redirect the flow of customers as close as possible to their place of residence, in order to limit and slow down the spread of coronavirus and avoid the load on grocery chains.

“The closure of these formats of trade entails an increase in the load on stores, including the concentration of buyers in the trading floors <…> the work of fairs and markets should reduce the high concentration of buyers in stores near the home and disperse people into different trading formats, ”follows the press release of the Ministry of Industry and Trade.

A similar conclusion was reached in France, where about 2.5 thousand food markets returned to work. Owners of retail outlets were required to place stands at a safe distance from each other and provide sellers with protection and sanitation facilities.

The press service of the Russian Ministry of Industry and Trade specified that the opening dates of fairs and markets in each region are directly dependent on local authorities.

According to sources from FruitNews agency, in the Krasnodar Territory, stalls and markets with vegetable and berry products will open after April 12, 2020. All restrictions on the entry of non-resident transport into the region have been lifted.
