In the Stavropol region, the harvesting of melons and gourds continues – watermelons, melons, pumpkins and squash. According to the Ministry of Agriculture of the Russian Federation, currently harvested 0.8 thousand hectares of the area, or 49% of the plan (the plan is 1.7 thousand hectares).

– The gross harvest amounted to 13.4 thousand tons, with an average yield of 158 c / ha. This figure is two times higher than the same period last year, where the yield was 74 c / ha, – said the First Deputy Minister of Agriculture of the Stavropol Territory Vyacheslav Dridiger.

The main production is carried out by peasant (farmer) farms of the region. The leaders of cleaning are the Stepnovsky municipal district, the Neftekumsky and Izobilnensky urban districts.

As EastFruit previously reported, in the horticultural farms of the Stavropol Territory (Russia), the harvest of summer apples of the varieties “Geneva” and “Gala” is underway. In total, as of August 27, 2020, 559 tons of apples with an average yield of 50 c / ha were harvested in the region from an area of ​​109 hectares. In 2020, the harvesting of fruits in the region was influenced by weather conditions – April frosts and hail, so farmers expect a smaller harvest than in 2019. Apple harvesting in the Stavropol Territory will last until November.
