In the Primorsky Territory (RF), there are opportunities for the cultivation of vegetables and potatoes, but the region is in last place in Russia to provide this product.

The situation with the suspension of supplies in Primorye of fruits and vegetables and potatoes from China forced the federal center to pay attention to the potential for the production of these crops in the region. According to KazakhZerno.kz, a meeting on this issue was held by the first deputy minister Dzhambulat Khatuov.

As was emphasized, in the Primorsky Territory there are opportunities for the cultivation of vegetables and potatoes, however, the region is in last place in Russia to provide these products. In this connection, the question was raised about measures to stimulate the cultivation of fresh vegetables in Primorye. These include provision of seed, development of reclamation systems, the introduction of suitable land, the creation of infrastructure for storage and processing. A proposal was also made on per-hectare support for the sowing of vegetables and potatoes and on concessional lending to greenhouse projects.
