Georgian greens exist exactly in that season (from September to May), when Europe needs greens. Georgian greens can occupy 0.2% of the European market. The minimum price of one kilogram is from 2-3 to 6 euros. We are talking about parsley, dill, coriander and arugula. Arugula is an unconventional product for Georgian agriculture. However, it is very popular in Italy and France, it is grown in the Mediterranean countries. The quality of Georgian greenery is high and, subject to the introduction of greenhouses with new technologies of highly qualified care, it is possible to increase production by up to 50%. This was stated by representatives of the Dutch company Bilancia, interested in cooperating with Georgian manufacturers.

Georgian greens are mainly exported to Ukraine, Belarus, Azerbaijan, Latvia, Bulgaria and Moldova. One of the successful enterprises that entered the European market with greenery is Herbia Ltd (Tskhaltubsky district). The company has implemented GLOBAL GAP standards. At this stage, the products are sold in small quantities on the markets of the Baltic countries and Bulgaria, as well as the supply of greenery to the Netherlands.

The European Union is one of the largest purchasers of greens – there are about 500 million consumers. European supermarkets require stable supplies and guaranteed volumes. Obstacles to entering the market here are also the quality of products, lack of knowledge and lack of modern technologies among participants in the produce business, and lack of quality information regarding export markets.
