In January – June 2020, all categories of farms produced 3,041.2 thousand tons of vegetables

The beginning of the agricultural season in 2020 in Uzbekistan was difficult: late frosts, strong winds, the breakthrough of the Sardobin reservoir. However, the farmers managed to overcome their consequences and achieve production growth.

According to the State Statistics Committee of the Republic of Uzbekistan, the volume of agricultural production in January – June 2020 amounted to 93.6 trillion. soums ($ 8.8 billion), or 102.7% compared to the corresponding period of 2019, including crop production reached 39.4 trillion. soums ($ 3.7 billion) (104.0%), livestock – 54.2 trillion. soums ($ 5.1 billion) (101.6%).

In January-June 2020, all categories of farms produced 3,041.2 thousand tons of vegetables (an increase of 2.6% compared to January-June 2019), 1,490.9 thousand tons of potatoes (an increase of 1.4%), 205.1 thousand tons of melons and gourds (up 11.4%), 1020.1 thousand tons of fruits and berries (up 7.4%), 43.3 thousand tons of grapes (up 17.3%) …

The leaders in the production of vegetables are Andijan, Surkhandarya and Fergana regions. They produced 17.9%, 17.3% and 12.8%, respectively, of the total production of vegetables in the republic.

Samarkand, Surkhandarya and Fergana regions are the leaders in potato production (19.1%, 13.3%, 12.5%, respectively).

Surkhandarya, Kashkadarya and Andijan regions are leaders in the production of melons and gourds (26.8%, 17.9%, 9.3%, respectively).

In terms of the production of fruits and berries in 2019, the leaders were Andijan, Fergana and Bukhara regions (22.9%, 16.5%, 14.2%, respectively).

The largest volume of grapes was produced in Surkhandarya, Kashkadarya and Samarkand regions (29.1%, 17.3%, 14.5%, respectively).
