At the moment, Polish greenhouse plants are already shipping tomato on average 10% cheaper than last year’s similar period

Greenhouse tomatoes in Poland continued to fall in price this week, despite a reduction in the supply of these products on the market, analysts at the EastFruit project said. Representatives of Polish greenhouse plants reported that local tomato samples were small and unstable. At the same time, demand in this segment was inactive, which did not allow manufacturers to keep prices at the level of last week.

In most cases, prices had to be reduced in order to increase sales and avoid the accumulation of unsold products in warehouses. So, at the moment, tomatoes from local greenhouse plants are offered for sale at a price of $ 0.74-0.78 / kg, which is on average 10% cheaper than at the end of last working week.

It is worth noting that at the moment, Polish greenhouse plants are already shipping tomato on average 10% cheaper than in the same period last year. Market participants are confident that under the current conditions, greenhouse plants are unlikely to manage to maintain current prices for their products for a long time, and in the near future they may again noticeably decrease.
