According to the Central Statistical Office of Poland (GUS), the production of outdoor vegetables in 2020 will increase by 6% to 4.1 million tons.

Sufficient rainfall in June 2020 contributed to the gain in mass of individual tomato fruits. However, at the beginning of the season, a lack of moisture in the soil and spring frosts led to poor germination of seeds and the need to replace some of the plants affected by low temperatures. Accordingly, GUS predicts a decline in the yield of this crop.

At the same time, the yield of onion and white cabbage will grow by 8%.

As EastFruit previously wrote, according to the Institute of Soil Science and Agriculture, agricultural drought is observed in all voivodeships in Poland and affects mainly berries and potatoes.
