The region exports a significant part of the grown products to the countries of far and near abroad.

Last year in the Khatlon region during the reorganization of large farms, several hundred new farm and family farms were created. Now their number in the region exceeds 68 thousand. At the same time, most farmers have already received certificates of land owners and are successfully conducting their activities.

According to the head of the Khatlon Oblast Land Administration Fathullo Khurmatzoda, last year 4066.19 hectares of land were transferred to the category of cultivated irrigated and rainfed lands, as well as to the category of forest land. This amount of land includes 3,562.45 hectares, which were previously dumped, 425 hectares were pasture land, 30 hectares of rainfed and more than 48 hectares due to lands of other categories.

The expansion of sown areas, along with improving the culture of agriculture, timely and high-quality implementation of agrotechnical measures, the use of high-quality seed material, the creation of new orchards and vineyards, including intensive and super-intensive ones, allowed farmers to improve their results compared to 2018. So in 2019, in all forms of managing the region, various agricultural products were produced by more than 12 billion somoni, which is almost 1 billion 70 million somoni ($ 175 million) more than the previous year. At the same time, the growth rate exceeded 8.5%.

In 2019, 51.5% of the total agricultural production of the Republic of Tajikistan was produced in this region.

The region exports a significant part of the grown products to the countries of far and near abroad. This is mainly pomegranate, lemons, apples, pears, grapes, pistachios, almonds, walnuts, dried fruits, melons, as well as early cucumbers, tomatoes, turnips, cabbage, garlic, onions.

The region’s agricultural exports in 2019 exceeded 110 thousand tons, which is more than 2 thousand tons more than in 2018.
