For 11 months of 2019, enterprises of all forms of business of the Sughd region produced agricultural products worth 7.4 billion somoni ($ 772.5 million), an increase of 108.9% compared to the same period last year. At the same time, the volume of production in the field of crop production amounted to 5.6 billion somoni ($ 576.8 million) – 107.5% compared to last year.

These facts were published in the Department of Agriculture of the region. In 2019, sowing of crops was carried out on an area of ​​274,807 ha, of which 230022.8 ha accounted for agricultural enterprises and dekhkan farms and 44784.2 ha – for households.

In 2019, the region’s agrarians sowed potatoes on an area of ​​22,450.6 ha, which is 1,455.9 ha more than in the same period last year.

However, the main planting of vegetables in all forms of managing the region was carried out on a total of 15886.8 hectares, which is 1953.5 hectares less than last year.

Re-sowing was planned on an area of ​​15,600 ha; in fact, re-sowing was carried out on an area of ​​14,779 ha, which is 64 ha more compared to last year.

In total, in the region the production of vegetables amounted to 484.4 thousand tons, potatoes – 500.3 thousand tons, melons – 125.9 thousand tons, fruits – 147.3 thousand tons, grapes – 61.6 thousand tons and honey –1391.6 tons, which is 24.4 thousand tons less vegetables, 34.3 thousand tons potatoes, 13.7 thousand tons of melons and vegetables, 12.2 thousand tons compared to the same period of 2018. thousand tons, grapes – 0.4 thousand tons and honey – 30.9 tons more.
