Export Development Program for 2021-2025 is being developed in Tajikistan

12/31/2019

In recent years, the volume of export from Tajikistan of canned products, fruits and vegetables has decreased

The relevant government departments of Tajikistan will develop and submit for consideration to the government of the country the Export Development Program for 2021-2025.

The previous similar program for the period until 2015 was not implemented. The reason for the failure to implement the RT Export Development Program for the period up to 2015 was related to the non-fulfillment of obligations undertaken by foreign partners.

According to Avesta.Tj, the previous Program provided for the adoption of comprehensive measures for the efficient use of export potential by organizing deep processing of raw materials and products with the aim of achieving final results and the gradual export of finished, competitive products from the country.

Now the Ministry of Economic Development and Trade, the Customs Service, the Export Agency, the Chamber of Commerce and Industry of the country has been instructed to speed up work on the implementation of a single window of export-import and transit operations, and to implement practical measures on the issue of entering the common system of using privileges and “green corridors” .

The relevant departments note that in recent years, exports of cement, cotton threads, metals and concentrates, carpets, gypsum board and other goods have increased, but for various reasons, exports of primary aluminum, cotton fiber, canned products, fruits and vegetables, cocoons have decreased and tobacco products.

Experts note that almost all exported goods are sold as raw materials, that is, without processing. Most of the export comes back to us, but in the form of finished products with high added value.

In January-November 2019, exports of goods amounted to $ 1 billion 72 million, and goods imported into the country during this period amounted to $ 2 billion 997.8 million. Import figures are almost three times higher than the amount of goods exported.
