Construction of a large wholesale distribution center will begin in November in Almaty (Kazakhstan)


Construction of a wholesale distribution center near the Industrial Zone will begin in Almaty (Republic of Kazakhstan) in November. This was announced by the deputy head of the Department of Entrepreneurship and Investments of the city Damir Tazabek.

“In November of this year, near the Industrial Zone of Almaty on an area of ​​17 hectares, it is planned to start construction of a distribution center LLP“ National Trade and Distribution Network ”. Commissioning is expected in early 2023, ”Tazabek said.

He noted that the project is being implemented within the framework of a public-private partnership. The investment in the project will amount to 35 billion tenge. According to ElDala.kz, this center will become part of the National Distribution System, consisting of 24 wholesale distribution centers throughout the country.

The commissioning of the ORC will make it possible to build a new technology for the storage, trade and distribution of food. In turn, this will stimulate an increase in the production of fruits and vegetables, including on irrigated lands.

In the Republic of Kazakhstan, a plan for the construction and modernization of vegetable stores is being developed. Today, only Atyrau, Zhambyl, Karaganda, Kostanay, Pavlodar and North Kazakhstan regions have sufficient storage capacities for vegetable products. At the same time, the shortage of capacities for long-term storage in the Aktobe region is 79%, in the West Kazakhstan region – 56%, in the East Kazakhstan region – more than 50%.
