A large potato cluster will appear in the Tashkent region (Uzbekistan), Podrobno.uz reports citing the Norma legal portal.

The modern agro-industrial cluster is created on the basis of five limited liability companies: Bo’stonliq kartoshkachilik markazi, Solanuz, Agrover-urug’chilik, Vernatural and Sof tabiat agro. He will be engaged in the production and deep processing of potatoes.

In 2020-2022, these companies will implement five investment projects worth $ 23.3 million. 620 permanent and 940 seasonal jobs will be created.

The agrocluster will be provided with leases of 1,400 hectares of unused land in the Bostanlyk region for a period of 30, but no more than 50 years. Also, in the Urtachirchik region, non-agricultural land plots with a low bonus score will be allocated for the construction of a machine and tractor park and logistics centers.

The cluster was given the right to independently determine the volumes, varieties and types of manufactured products, taking into account the needs of internal and external markets and natural and climatic conditions. And business entities were allowed to export dry mashed potatoes of domestic production (HS code 1105 20 000 0). Previously, the export of this position required a decision by the president or government.
