During the inspection of a consignment of fresh plums from Moldova, a quarantine object for the Russian Federation was revealed – the eastern moth

About 20 tons of plums from Moldova were not allowed to Russia.

This was reported by the Federal Service for Veterinary and Phytosanitary Surveillance of Russia (Rosselkhoznadzor), noting that the Rosselkhoznadzor Administration for Moscow, Moscow and Tula regions in the temporary storage warehouse of OST-Terminal LLC during the inspection of a batch of fresh plums weighing 19.6 tons from the Republic of Moldova a quarantine object for the Russian Federation was revealed – the eastern moth (Grapholita molesta Busck).

The presence of a quarantine facility in a viable state was confirmed by the result of a laboratory examination carried out by specialists of the All-Russian Plant Quarantine Center (FSBI VNIIKR) subordinate to the Rosselkhoznadzor, writes Agroexpert.

The Rosselkhoznadzor Administration issued a notification to the owner of the cargo on taking action with respect to contaminated regulated products. The owner made a decision to destroy it. In accordance with the phytosanitary legislation of the Russian Federation, the infected regulated products were destroyed under the control of the Rosselkhoznadzor Office.
