This week, the first lots of locally produced early potatoes of this season began to go on sale in Poland, analysts at EastFruit project said.

According to project experts, at the moment the offer of early potatoes from local farms in the Polish market is very small. To date, only a few farms in the Mazovian and Lodz regions have reported the start of the sales season for these products. It should be noted that the price of products is quite high and is announced in the range of $ 0.73-0.83 / kg.

According to Polish farmers, more massively early potatoes will begin to enter the country’s markets in early June, provided that the weather is favorable.

Also, early potatoes from the foreign market were present on the Polish market, mainly from Greece and went on sale at a price of $ 0.39-0.58 / kg, which is on average 38% cheaper than the cost of early potatoes from local households.

Recall that last year, the season of early potatoes from local farms in Poland began practically at the same time as this year, and the price of these products was announced in the same range as today.
