Apple forecasts – the premiere of the video conference on the morning of Saturday, May 23


The conference was held on May 20 with the participation of 10 speakers from different countries; representatives of 20 countries of the world listened to the conference

EastFruit invites everyone who could not watch the First International Apple Online Conference “Apple Predictions” to the live premiere of the video recording of the event, which will begin on Saturday May 23 at 09:45 Kyiv, Chisinau and Moscow time. Recall that the conference was held on May 20 with the participation of 10 speakers from Poland, Serbia, Ukraine, Moldova, Georgia, Uzbekistan, Tajikistan and Italy. The conference was attended by representatives of 20 countries. Hosted an event Andrey Yarmak, economist, Food and Agriculture Organization of the United Nations (FAO). He also gave a brief overview of the prospects for the global apple market in the 2020/21 season, listing countries that could increase and which could reduce apple imports, indicating potential changes in apple trade.

The influence of spring frosts, as well as drought, the frequency of fruiting and other factors on the apple crop in 2020, as well as on the prospects for export, import and prices for this type of fruit for their countries, were also told:

During the event, many interesting features of the apple business and the apple market in these countries were also announced, as well as an analysis was given of the outgoing season of 2019/20, which mainly turned out to be quite favorable for farmers. During the online event, its participants actively exchanged contacts, which should lead to new contracts at the beginning of next season. This is especially true in the absence of exhibitions and the possibility of organizing trade missions.

The Apple Predictions Conference was organized by the EastFruit project with the support of FAO and the European Bank for Reconstruction and Development (EBRD), the Ukrainian Fruit and Vegetable Association (UPOA), the international analytical project Fruit-Inform and the FARM Federation of Agricultural Producers of Moldova.

At the numerous requests of foreign participants, the EastFruit project is already preparing a similar event in English, which will be held, according to preliminary plans, on June 10, 2020. Stay tuned for announcements on the EastFruit website.
